Matrimonial/Family
We appreciate
that discussing personal matters such as separation and divorce can be
awkward and often upsetting but it is our job to put you at ease and ensure
that you are being treated fairly and getting what you are entitled to.
All discussions with a solicitor are completely confidential and we treat
all matters that are brought to us with great sensitivity. We offer advice
in relation to all matrimonial and family matters, including associated
disputes regarding property and children. If any of these matters are
affecting you please feel free to come in and see a solicitor to discuss
them and ensure that any arrangements you may have will continue to be
worry free.
Do you have a Will?
Everyone
should have a Will, no matter if you are young or old. A Will sets out
your instructions on what you want to happen following your death rather
than leaving decisions on these important issues unclear, and which those
close to you may find difficult to make.
We understand that making a Will can be unsettling but we aim to make
the process as stress free and easy as possible, leaving you safe in the
knowledge that should the unthinkable happen your wishes will be respected
regarding funeral arrangements, bequests and guardianship of children.
If you already have a Will, is it up to date or does it need to be amended
to allow for changed circumstances? Some consideration may need to be
given to your Will at times of change such as buying a house, upon marriage,
having children or upon separation or divorce. Having a Will ensures that
your wishes are carried out.
If you have not made a Will or would like to update an existing one, why
not come along and discuss it with a solicitor today?
Financial Advice
Due to the
recent turbulence on the stock market and the damage done to pensions
and investment values in the past year, it may now be a suitable time
to reflect on your financial situation. If you wish to seek advice in
reviewing your finances or making future investments we have a connection
with an extremely reputable firm of independent financial advisers in
Edinburgh, called Albannach Financial Managers Limited who we can recommend.
We have had a longstanding relationship with the firm and can arrange
an appointment with one of their advisers for you. If you would like more
information please feel free to call or write to the office.
