Getting ready to restart the Property Market ..and why Kinross-shire may be even more of a property hotspot after the lockdown.

As of 5th June we are advised that more information on the restart of the Scottish Property Market will be forthcoming soon. Already we are seeing some signs with several Chartered Surveyors prepared to carry out Home Reports in unoccupied properties. We are seeking clarification.

There is certainly evidence of pent-up demand from buyers and sellers with enquiries increasing daily. We know there is some frustration but it is important that we all proceed only when we can and only when it is safe. One of the leading property portals had their busiest ever day this week and a survey suggests 40% of all buyers want to move from the larger centres of population to smaller, well connected communities. A number of factors are cited, the ability to work from home and living in areas of less population density among them. Kinross-shire has always ranked well in ‘places to live’ surveys with our excellent local schools always an attraction. Hopefully the ‘new normal’ will see a continued resurgence of local High Streets with all of us now aware of the importance of supporting our local shops and restaurants. We certainly have a good selection locally.
